ESG secured the first title sponsor, Singapura Finance
Singapore, 12 February 2015 – IN a ground-breaking move for the local swimming scene, Enterprise Sports Group has secured home-grown financial institution Singapura Finance as the title sponsor of the Singapore Swimming Association’s Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships (NAG) for the next three years. The partnership is set to change the landscape of local swimming as Singapura Finance becomes the first corporate entity to offer rewards for swimmers who set national and meet records.
For the first time ever, prizes will be awarded to the swimmer who breaks a national or meet record respectively at the NAG. This exciting development is one of the key ways in which Singapura Finance hopes to reward athletes who have sacrificed their time and effort in the pursuit of sporting excellence. These rewards will create even more buzz around the sport which is already a firm favourite with local sporting fans!
Jamie Teo, Chief Executive Officer of Singapura Finance said, “We are very pleased to be the title sponsor of the Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships as we aim to help develop the championships into an exciting national event. The event is one of the highlights of the local swimming calendar, and attracts participants from a broad cross section, from children as young as 8 years old right up to adults, and we hope to empower and inspire everyone in the swimming community to dream big and achieve the very best results that they are capable of. We believe that ESG and the SSA are moving in the right direction as they continue to develop the swimming community and we are honoured to be able to play a vital role in this endeavour and to continue growing the sport together.”
The Singapura Finance sponsorship will also include other fringe activities, such as workshops for athletes, coaches, clubs and parents on the latest developments in sports psychology and nutrition, and also tips from financial experts on how to better plan and manage finances to fund their young charges’ training costs. Singapura Finance will also be conducting learn-to-swim classes for physically challenged children.
ESG has entered into a three-year partnership with the SSA to develop local swimming events, with the key objective of turning swimming into Singapore’s number one national spectator sport. Athletes and clubs can look forward to more marketing and promotion of local meets, with the goal of increasing the fan base and spectatorship as ESG works to bring more commercial partners on board to grow the sport.
General Manager of Enterprise Sports Group, Ryan Quek, said: “ESG is thrilled to have Singapura Finance come on board as the title sponsor of the National Age Group Swimming Championships. We believe that this partnership will take the event to the next level with the cash prizes on offer for all record breakers as well as the fringe events planned for the athletes. We will also create an enhanced experience for all spectators at the meet through the interactive platforms that we are building.
The Singapura Finance 46th Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships will be held from March 13th to 22nd at the OCBC Aquatic Centre at the Singapore Sports Hub.
